What does ‘Certified Copies’ of documents mean?
Part of the application process may involve supplying ANU College with certified photocopies of documents to support your application. A certified copy has to be verified a true copy by a witness sighting the original document.
Uncertified photocopies and photocopies of certified copies (i.e. where the certification signature and stamp is not original) do not meet our requirements, and your application will not proceed.
The person certifying the document must:
  • Stamp or write, 'This is a true copy of the document sighted by me';
  • Sign, date and provide contact details (name, address and telephone number);
  • The official stamp or seal of their organization.

Applications from OUTSIDE of Australia
For the certification of your documents to be acceptable, they must be certified by:
  • a Australian overseas diplomatic mission, or;
  • ANU College registered Overseas Agents.

Applications from WITHIN Australia
For the certification of your documents to be acceptable, they must be certified by one of the following:
  • ANU College registered Education Agents;
  • Bank manager, but not a manager of a bank travel centre;
  • Barrister, solicitor or patent attorney;
  • Credit union branch manager;
  • Justice of the Peace;
  • Medical practitioner (doctor);
  • Police officer in charge of a police station, or of the rank of sergeant and above;
  • Postal manager;
  • Pharmacist;
  • Principal of an Australian secondary college, high school or primary school.

What is an Acceptance Declaration?
The Acceptance Declaration form is a declaration which all students need to accept prior to commencing the programs. All students enrolling in ANU College programs must make the full program payment and complete the Acceptance Declaration form before commencing the program.
MAKING PAYMENTS FROM OUTSIDE AUSTRALIA
Students making international transactions are able to transfer money from a bank account in their home country directly to ANU College using StudentPay facilities through the ANU College website www.anucollege.edu.au. This facility is available 24 hours a day and your receipt is emailed to you as soon as your transaction is complete. It’s easy, fast and secure. This is the preferred method of payment for international students intending to study at ANU College.

MAKING PAYMENTS FROM INSIDE AUSTRALIA
Students currently within Australia are requested to make payment by credit card or bank transfer.

BANK TRANSFER
Students who prefer to visit their local bank branch to organise a bank transfer should arrange for payment to be made to the following account. Please fax/email a receipt to ANU College and include your student name and ID number.

CREDIT CARD
Only MasterCard and Visa card is accepted by ANU College. Please use the Credit Card Payment Details section of the Acceptance Declaration / Tax Invoice attached to the ANU College Letter of Offer. Alternative arrangements for payment will be requested if the credit card is declined. Please note that payments by credit card will incur a 2% surcharge.

How do I receive an electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE)?
Electronic Confirmation of Enrolments (eCoEs) are issued when students complete the acceptance declaration form and make the full payment for the programs.

Is there an IELTS Testing Centre in Canberra?
Yes, there is an IELTS Testing Centre located on the campus of the University of Canberra.

What is a “Packaged Offer”?
Successful students (completed college studies) are allowed to enter into the ANU Foundation studies and subsequently into undergraduate studies at The ANU. It is the combination offer of the Foundation and Bachelor studies.

Some examples of packaged offers are as follows:
  • Pathway to Foundation + Foundation + ANU Bachelor Degree
  • Foundation + ANU Bachelor Degree
  • Access English Preparation + Access English

When are ANU Offer Letter and eCoE issued for Foundation and Packaged Offer students? Is there any deposit that needs to be paid?
Students do not need to pay their ANU Bachelor fees until they complete their study at ANU College.

When can I change my ANU major degree if I changed my mind?
You can change your ANU Major degree after you finish your study at ANU College.

When is the last day for enrolment if students arrive in Australia late?
Normally we will give another 4 days for students to enrol. The last day of enrolment will be also notified in the Comments section of the CoE. If there are other reasons for the delay, please inform our staff urgently.

Why is the OSHC usually offered one or two months more than actual study period?
We usually offer students 1 or 2 months more, which will make sure students will be totally covered before they are going to ANU.

Is there bike security for those wishing to ride to ANUC?
Bike-racks are available but you must provide your own bike-locks.

Are computer facilities available?
Yes, there are computers available for students to use. There is also a wireless network available throughout the college building for students with their own laptops. Students must provide their own papers for printing.

Are there any cooking facilities available?
Yes, there are basic kitchen appliances available inside the college building, e.g. microwaves, sandwich makers, fridges and tea, coffee making facilities etc.

How do I apply for a refund?
Students wishing to apply for a refund need to fill in the Application for a Refund form. Copies are also available at the ANU College reception.

Completed forms can be emailed to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or submitted in person to the ANU College reception.

How long will it take to get my refund?
Eligible refunds will be made within 10 business days if ANU College defaults on the program and usually within 20 business days if the student withdraws from the program.

I paid by credit card, can I have the refund transferred to my bank account?
No. If you paid by credit card the refund must be put back onto the same credit card unless that card has expired. If the card has expired the refund will be put onto the replacement card.

Can I have my refund in cash?
No. ANU College does not pay refunds in cash.

Inquiries about Maths Bridging Course
General information can be found on the ANU website covering pre-requisites, dates, course fees including payment, curriculum, recommended text, assessment, course enrolments. Specific questions may be answered by Dr Stephen Roberts, the course convenor on 6125 4445 and enrolments may be accepted by admissions officers at Reception/Admin area. The Course will be held three times a year.

Inquiries about the Associate Degree

Students inquiring of Teachers whereabouts
All Students are given a timetable with subjects, room numbers and initials of teachers. Please check the timetable first – if you are still unsure then contact another teacher, NOT Reception or Administration as we do not know the teachers’ whereabouts.

Library Cards
In the Orientation pack, students may fill out an application form for a Library card. Teachers will collect and submit them to the Library who will process them and send the complete library cards back to the teachers to hand out to the Students.

Inquiries about copying Textbooks
Copying textbooks is illegal in Australia and will be breaching the copy right laws. Students who are finding the price of textbooks expensive may consider buying second hand books.

ID Cards
Photos must be taken by Admission Officers using College Camera. Photos of students will be taken during Orientation day and the ID cards issued out by teachers during the week.

OSHC
OSHC cards take approximately a week to arrive and will be handed out to students by teachers in class.

Papers for Computers
Students must supply their own papers for printing – they can be purchased at the news agency in Union Court. We do not sell printing papers at Reception.

Leaving personal belongings in Reception
We cannot look after Student’s belongings behind the counter. Please make other arrangements for this.
